Yesterday after work I played the Parkland (also called Park 96) Disc Golf Course.  Here is a quick recap of the course and my round.

The Course

The Parkland Disc Golf course is a private disc golf course located in the Parkland community in the  South-west of Calgary.  It's laid out in a park with quite a bit of open space and trees.  The holes are all very challenging and good for intermediate to advanced players.  A beginner would probably get frustrated playing this course as it's fairly long and challenging.

All the holes are par 4 except number 7 which is a REALLY long par 4.  The rest are one good drive to the basket and there are only really 1 hole which should be birdied every time.

My Round

My round yesterday I shot a +4.  I was two over after the first two holes and then par-ed the rest of the front nine.  Leaving me at +2 on the front.  The back nine was going smoothly until the 14th and 15th holes which are trick holes through the trees.  I had some unlucky nicks off of trees and leaving me behind larger trees.  I ended the round at +2.

I felt like I was playing pretty good. I'm still trying to figure out my brand new Valkyrie as it's still new and slips out of my hand too early in the release.  I may need to sand down the inside lip of the disc to get more grip.   I hope to get out and play Parkland another couple of times this summer.  I now have the mark of +4 to beat!
